January 2026 Phone Photos. River Scene, Colored Pencil on Bristol 6 x 10. A bright summer's day captured on my phone was perfect for this series. Colored pencil provides vivid color, strong, thin lines and can be blended to some degree. Overall, I enjoyed working on this project. There is no mess, no brushes to wash and I do like the result when viewed from a distance. Still, I think I do prefer the smooth application of paint.
